Link Asana tasks to test runs

Learn how to integrate Asana with Test Management to streamline testing workflows, better tracking, and enhance management.

Asana enables robust traceability between tasks and test runs. This document guides you through creating or adding existing Asana tasks to test runs.

You can add your Asana tasks while creating a new test run or editing an existing one. It allows you to directly associate relevant Asana tasks within the test run form.

1. Navigate to the create/edit existing test run window in the desired project.

2. Select Asana from the drop-down menu in the Requirements field.

   

3. Click click here below the Requirements field.

   

4. Enter the following details:
   • Organisation and Project name.
   • Select one of the tabs:
     • Create issue to generate a new Asana task.
     • Update existing issue to link an existing Asana task.
     • Enter all the relevant details.

   

5. Click Create/Update.

BrowserStack’s Test Management has linked new or updated Asana tasks to the corresponding test run.

Link Test Results with Asana tasks

You can link the Asana tasks with test results. Perform the following steps to link the Asana tasks with test results:

1. Navigate to the desired test run with test cases.
2. Select the check boxes adjacent to the test cases to which you want to add results.

3. Click Add Result.

   

4. Click click here below the Defects field.

5. Enter the following details:
   • Organisation and Project name.
   • Select one of the tabs:
     • Create issue to generate a new Asana task.
     • Update existing issue to link an existing Asana task.
     • Enter all the relevant details.

   

6. Click Create/Update.

7. Click Add Result.

   

BrowserStack’s Test Management has linked new or updated tasks to the corresponding test result.
