Setup Slack Notifications for Build Summary

Integrate Slack with Low Code Automation to receive build status and summary.

Connecting Slack with Low Code Automation allows you to receive real-time updates about your build status directly in your Slack channel. You can configure automatic Slack updates for every build run, failure, or status change. This ensures that your team is always up-to-date on the latest results.

To receive Slack notifications for build status, you must first perform the following steps:

Integrate Slack with Low Code Automation

  1. In Low Code Automation, navigate to Integrations > All apps and click + Connect on the Slack tile. Connect Slack
  2. In the pop-up window, click Connect with Slack. Slack integration window
  3. To grant permission for Slack access, click Allow. Allow slack integration
  4. The Slack tile displays Connected once successfully linked. Successful Slack integration

Configure Slack notifications for Low Code Automation

  1. In Low Code Automation, go to Test Suites, click the Bell icon and select Configure Slack.
  2. In the Configure Slack notifications window, choose the notification trigger under Send notification on:
    • Every run: Sends a Slack notification after every build run, regardless of whether it passes or fails.
    • Every failure: Sends a Slack notification only when a build run fails.
    • Every status change: Sends a Slack notification whenever the build status changes. For example, failed to pass. Configure Slack notifications
  3. From the Send notification to dropdown, select the channels that should receive the notifications.
  4. You can click the Send notification test button to verify the setup and ensure the notifications are being sent correctly.
  5. Click Save.

To send notifications to private channels, you must set up the BrowserStack app. For more information, refer to the Add BrowserStack app to private Slack channels section.

Add BrowserStack app to private Slack channels

In order to send notifications to private channels in Slack, you need to ensure the BrowserStack app is added to the channel.

To add BrowserStack app to private Slack channels:

  1. Click the list of users in the private channel.
  2. Click the Integrations tab and click Add an App.
  3. Search for BrowserStack and add the BrowserStack app. Ensure the app is added by checking the Integrations tab again.

Disconnect Slack

To disconnect, click Disconnect on the Slack tile. In the Disconnect Slack window, type “Disconnect” and click Disconnect.

Disconnecting Slack erases all notification settings across test suites, and they cannot be restored.
