App Accessibility Automated testing provides a seamless way to integrate accessibility checks into your existing functional test suites. It runs alongside your regular functional tests, ensuring each build is checked against accessibility standards without adding extra manual steps. How does it work?
This solution uses intelligent screen tracking to detect changes in your app’s user interface. Whenever a screen changes, the automated scanner runs accessibility checks without requiring any additional code edits or manual interventions.
This process relies on two key components working together:
-
BrowserStack SDK:
The BrowserStack SDK lets you seamlessly integrate App Accessibility testing into your existing functional test suite. Simply install the SDK and add the accessibility capability. Once configured, every relevant test scenario is automatically subjected to accessibility checks. -
App Accessibility dashboard:
The dashboard serves as a central hub for all test results, offering enhanced monitoring and debugging. It displays detailed issue summaries, their severity, and the exact points in your workflow where they occur. These details help you efficiently fix accessibility issues.
Who is it for?
It is targeted towards the following users:
- SDETs who run functional tests and want to start conducting Accessibility testing in the same test suite.
- Developers who need to validate accessibility on new builds or PRs without extra manual steps.
- QA Managers who want a comprehensive view of their application’s accessibility health through a single, centralized dashboard.
What’s next?
Currently, Automated tests work only for test suites which run on BrowserStack App Automate.
