App performance trends for automated tests

Identify recurring issues by analyzing app performance trends for automated tests.

After you run app performance tests and analyze performance reports, you might want to compare the performance reports across sessions to identify recurring issues. With Performance Trends, you can view performance trends and comparison of app performance across sessions or builds.

In the Performance Trends, you can view the following:

• Compare app performance

Using Performance Trends

1. Open the App Automate dashboard.
2. Locate the build for your app.
   You can find the build in the builds list or you can search for the build.
3. Click the build and then click the session that has the App Performance Testing capability set.
4. Go to the App Profiling tab.
5. In the App Profiling tab, click Performance Trends. The Performance Trends prompt opens.
6. On the Performance Trends prompt, you can use the following filters and click Apply Filters:
   • Session status: You can select the status of the session. The possible values are Completed, Running, Timeout, and Error.
   • Device: You can choose the specific devices on which the sessions were conducted.
   • Build tags: You can select a build tag that you added during the build creation.
   • Build status: You can select the status of the build. The possible values are Completed, Failed, Passed and Error.

The current session appears at the top, followed by the top five sessions listed from most recent to least recent, according to your applied filters. Your current session acts as the baseline, against which the other sessions are compared.

After you get the filtered sessions list, click Check Performance Trends.

You are redirected to the App Performance Testing dashboard.

It shows the following tabs:

• Trends
• Comparison

Use the Trends and Comparison tabs within Performance Trends to gain deep insights into your app’s performance over time.

The Trends tab allows you to identify patterns across the selected sessions. The Comparison tab enables you to directly measure performance changes between different sessions.
