Migration to HTTPs
To enhance security, BrowserStack Automate is deprecating HTTP support and migrating to HTTPS. HTTPS ensures encryption, data integrity, and authentication, reducing security risks. Starting 30 June 2025, HTTP-based connections to BrowserStack Automate will no longer be supported. You must update the configurations to use HTTPS.
Impact
Who is Affected?
If you have used HTTP-based Hub URLs, you must migrate to HTTPS before 30 June 2025 to avoid test failures. What Changes Are Required? To ensure a seamless transition, you must make the following updates:
1. Update Hub URL
Modify your WebDriver hub URL from HTTP to HTTPS in your test scripts: Current (soon to be deprecated) HTTP URL:
http://hub-cloud.browserstack.com/wd/hub
New (Secure) HTTPS URL:
https://hub-cloud.browserstack.com/wd/hub
2. Unsupported Client Bindings
If you are using outdated or unsupported client bindings, you may need to update the bindings to compatible versions. If you face issues, contact our support team.
What Happens If You Don’t Migrate?
Starting 30 June 2025, HTTP support for Automate tests will be deprecated, causing tests to fail if they continue using HTTP.
