Run a PDF scan
Learn how to scan a PDF file using BrowserStack Accessibility Testing.
You can scan your PDF documents for accessibility issues with PDF Scanner. The scanner identifies accessibility violations in your PDF documents based on PDF/UA-2 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and generates a detailed report.
You can also scan your PDF document for Best Practices issues. These are not accessibility violations but resolving them improves user experience.
Steps to run a scan
To scan your PDF document, follow these steps:
On the Accessibility Testing Homepage, go to the PDF scanner section.
Click New PDF scan.
In the Add PDF section, you can either upload a document from your local directory or drag and drop a PDF document.
Alternatively, if your PDF document is available online, you can add a link to the document in the Enter link to PDF field.
The size of the PDF document should not be larger than 10 MB.
In the Configure scan settings section, enter a name for the scan in the Scan name field.
Optional: Switch off the Include Best Practices issues option if you do not want to include the rules in your scan. This option is ON by default.
Click Start scan.
BrowserStack PDF scanner scans the document and generates a detailed report.
To access the scan reports, navigate to the PDF Scanner section on the Accessibility Testing Homepage.
