Local Binary v8.1 Release Notes
Date : 11 September 2020
The BrowserStack Local Testing team is pleased to announce the release of Local Binary v8.1
Features
- Complete Docker support. Prefer to use BrowserStack in a Docker environment? It is now easier than ever. Head over to BrowserStackLocal on Docker Hub, where you can find detailed instructions for using a Dockerized binary. This can support local testing with your favourite BrowserStack products – Automate, App Automate, Live, or App Live
- Beta compatibility with Alpine Linux – we now offer a build of the binary compatible with 64-bit Alpine linux. You can download the binary here, or simply use BrowserStack language bindings in an Alpine Linux container which will automatically download the right distribution. Be sure to install the dependencies mentioned here.
- Fine grained control over requests serviced by the local binary. New params: –include-hosts & –exclude-hosts ; documentation
- Binary params can now be stored in and fetched from a YAML configuration file. Param: –config-file ; sample file
- Download the latest Binary here for Windows, OS X, Linux-32, Linux-64, Alpine-64(Beta)!
Bug Fixes
- Facing error messages when using the BrowserStack Local App and and the Binary on the same machine? We’ve now made the two compatible. Ensure that the BrowserStack local app is started first, after which you can execute as many binaries on the system as you want!
- General housekeeping and bug-squashing.
