How do I transfer ownership of my organization account?

The owner can transfer ownership of their organization account on BrowserStack. The possible scenarios are:

1. Transfer Ownership to existing members of the organization
2. Transfer Ownership to an individual who is not part of the organization
3. Transfer Ownership when the organization has only one license
4. Transfer Ownership when the current Owner is not available

Scenario 1: Transfer Ownership to an existing User

If you are the current owner of the organization, you can transfer the ownership to an existing user :

1. Login to your BrowserStack account.
2. Post logging into BrowserStack, access the Summary page.
3. Visit the Ownership Transfer Section and click on the Transfer Ownership button.
4. Select a new Owner from the members of your organization using search by email.
5. Click on the Transfer Ownership button and Confirm button to transfer the ownership.

Scenario 2: Transfer Ownership to an individual who is not part of the organization

If you are the current owner of the organization and want to transfer ownership of the organization to an individual who is not part of the organization:

1. Login into your BrowserStack account.
2. Post logging into BrowserStack, access the User Management page.
3. Send Invite to invite the user to join your Organization account from the Invitations tab.
4. Once the user accepts the invite, go to the Summary page.
5. Visit the Ownership Transfer Section and click on the Transfer Ownership button.
6. Select a new Owner from the members of your organization using search by email.
7. Click on the Transfer Ownership button and Confirm button to transfer the ownership.

Scenario 3:  Transfer Ownership when the organization has only one license.

In case the organization has only one license which is allocated to the current owner. Ownership transfer can be performed by performing the following steps:

1. Login into your BrowserStack account.
2. Post logging into BrowserStack, access the User Management page.
3. Remove your product license by editing product access from the Users tab.
4. Send Invite to invite the user to join your Organization account from the Invitations tab.
5. Once the user accepts the invite, go to the Summary page.
6. Visit the Ownership Transfer Section and click on the Transfer Ownership button.
7. Select a new Owner from the members of your organization using search by email.
8. Click on the Transfer Ownership button and Confirm button to transfer the ownership.

Scenario 4: Transfer Ownership when the current owner is not available

In case the current Owner on BrowserStack is not available or has left the organization, then reach out to our Support team for help.
