How can we help?

Is my Local Binary version supported?

Your Local binary, which allows you to test development environments that aren’t publicly accessible on the Internet, automatically checks for the newest version available and self-updates on every restart.

However, if your testing environment setup prevents the Binary from restarting, you might be using an older version.

In order to ensure you can leverage the latest features on BrowserStack, we support the three most recent versions of the binary:
  • All other versions of the binary will auto update when it is restarted.
  • Versions v7.4, v7.5 and, v7.6 will continue to work.

Why are we implementing this new process?
This is because with every release of the binary, we add important features such as PAC file support, BrowserMob support and performance improvements. Hence running older versions of the binary might degrade user experience, and prevent our users from best leveraging what our platform has to offer.

What does this mean to me?
If you're using a binary version v7.3 or lower, effective midnight GMT on 30th November 2019, your binary will auto-update when it is restarted.

How do I get the latest version?
