Types of devices on Private Devices

Private Devices offers the following types of devices:

  • Catalog devices: Standard device-OS combinations from BrowserStack’s existing catalog, including supported Smart TVs.

  • Non-catalog devices: Device models or device-OS combinations not included in the standard catalog, such as One Plus 9R.

  • Custom devices: Device types not present in our catalog, such as POS terminals or hand-held scanners, tailored to your needs.

Commonly used features of Private Devices

Here are some of the most commonly used features of Private Devices:

  • App persistence: Retain app data between sessions.

  • SIM-based testing: Private Devices supports SIM-based testing, enabling you to test real-world scenarios involving SIM cards, such as payments, authentication, and interruption testing. With Private Devices, you can consistently use the same SIM number.

  • Device UDIDs: Access unique device identifiers for beta app testing.

  • iOS entitlements: You can preserve iOS app entitlements without re-signing the developer signed app. The iOS entitlements are available for App Automate and App Live.
